turning to Music and Performance Art, and holds a Master of Theater from DAS (formally DasArts). Orion is working on a series of projects exploring the possibilities of a hybrid forms of performance and knowledge creation situated between complex systems, cybernetics, computation, language, musicality and theatre – often joined in the idea of an ‘algorithmic theatre’ and ‘thinking together’ where ‘computers' and language systems are made of people. He is currently involved in co-developing a series of performances, workshops, publications and symposia with partners including - Frascati Theatre, Amsterdam; BAU platform for Dance and Performance, Amsterdam; Department of Synthetic Systems Biology, University of Amsterdam; The Institute of Advanced Studies, Amsterdam; The Evolution, Cognition and Complexity Research group (ECCO), Vrije Universiteit, Brussels - amongst others.
Currently he is re-developing [THE BRAIN] Theatre of Mind, This experimental-neuroaesthetic-collective-ontological-performance is based on ideas from neuroscience, cybernetics and beyond. The audience are connected together via mobile-phones to create a collective hive mind. This collective mind both co-writes, and becomes the main subject and protagonist of the performance. It's a collective thought-experiment, and anything can happen.
Other recent projects include [THE MACHINE], HUMAN SIMULATION and the Cybernetic, Algorithmic, Systemic Theatre Symposium. His work and collaborations are regularly presented internationally including: Frascati; MU Gallery Eindhoven; Beursschouwburg, Brussels; Bâtard Festival, Brussels; Theatre Aan Zee (TAZ), Ostend; Come Together Festival, Amsterdam; MU Gallery, Eindhoven; Burning Ice 9 Festival, KAAI theatre, Brussels; Korean Experimental Arts Festival, Seoul, South Korea; Gwangju Biennial, South Korea; Houston Biennial of Performance, USA; A Foundation, Liverpool Bi
