I am a transdisciplinarian working within the theory and practice of Somatics: Ecosomatic, Somaesthetics and Somatechnics. My post-doctoral research is in human embodiment within everyday life, wellbeing & medicine. With particular interests in: presence within everyday embodied performativities and kin/aesthetics within embodied-environmental relations. My research utilises embodied movement-kinaesthetic practice/praxis; allied to computer mediated communications. Presently, I am undertaking independent research into: The Value of Somatic Awareness in Breast Cancer Recovery: Re-Embodiment, Somaesthetics, Ecosomatics and Somatechnics; eco-movement-arts modalities enabling care, recovery and decision-making, following mastectomy. I also freelance as a body-mind-life-coach running 'YouThrive': facilitating 1-1 & small group sessions through somatic movement, expressive arts, meditation & solution focused practices. Previously, I facilitate problem-based learning and special study modules at Lancaster University Medical School. This followed on from my post/doctoral studies in embodiment and human-technology relations; especially face transplantation, enhancement and the psycho-social & ethico-political aspects of prosthetication.
