Posted by Gabrielle Senza on February 23, 2018 at 0:36 0 Comments

It is a series of video/performance works that use the division of labor model in capitalism as a structural tool for performance.

From his website:

The Division of labour work explores…

Erotics and drama

A few passages in the Dialectic of Enlightenment suggest a concern with the erotic in the work of Critical Theory; Schopenhauer's philosophy also provided the basis for a new conception of sexuality and erotics in the arts. What's more, these underscore the necessity of transgressive eros in the creation of a post-catastrophic art (see especially Laurence Dreyfus' recent work on Wagner). As a playwright I am particularly interested in the role this plays in a written drama preferatory to performance.

Some of my remarks on erotics and drama can be found at the Web site for the theatre minima theatre company.

Thank you for these comments and pointers, Gabriella. The idea of "digital love" and erotics is of considerable relevance -- especially as the body extends itself through language, always a consideration in writing drama. This digital erotic also provides a unique consideration for collaboration in that the performativity is shared: as the body is language, the language becomes the body. The room for imagination is thereby broadened. Lessons there for theatre and drama certainly, and the research has barely begun.

Thank you both for joining this group. I hope to be able to contribute something here soon -- in the meantime, feel free to do so yourselves.
