Who is this Body? This Body is m//e//ine

Looking for ways to carry out my dissertation project as a performative social science project. It is about the body and the self, about beauty ideals, and dealing with them, about the intersection of self-image and social discourse about bodies.

I want to work together with 5-8 people who are able to say that their own bodies are OK, the assumption being that making such a statement is not easy and immediate in this society, but is part of a process of self-positioning within beauty discourses and (re-)presentation and de_construction of bodies in social discourse.

I want to work on making this process manifest, by working on both, a theoretical and a practical/performative front (while not being even sure that they are really that distinct).

All I need now, is structures and institutions allowing me to carry out such a project as my PhD :']

Anyone willing//able to help?
